WHY BE WELLTHY?

Does eating healthy seem overwhelming to you? You’re not sure where to start, you’re super busy & the thought of not eating your favorite foods make you sad. I felt the same in the beginning of my journey. I was bombarded by different diet trends and felt inadequate in my cooking capabilities (my husband used to do all the cooking, bless his heart!) What diet do I choose? Will I be able to stick to it? Can I afford eating healthy?

After I had my daughter, I received a huge dental bill ($1300) and learned diet & natural toothpaste could have prevented these cavities. It made me wonder what other issues I could have prevented with a healthy lifestyle?

After learning about the negative health affects caused by diet, losing a parent to cancer & having a baby, I threw aside these worries. Our food quality, unfortunately, is contributing to health issues, cancer, obesity, depression, the list goes on. We really are what we eat!

"LET THY FOOD BE MEDICINE"

I wanted a lifestyle that prevented health issues, not caused them. The combination of eating foods that are potentially harmful and lacking the nutrients we need put our health at risk. Many health problems wouldn’t be an issue if we ate whole, unprocessed, real foods.

Sometimes “health” blogs or websites can be discouraging. It doesn’t look obtainable or feel easy. I am by no means an expert. I’m a busy mom in ministry who’s not great at cooking but has come a long way when it comes to living a healthier lifestyle (A normal meal for me in high school was two corn dogs & two chili dogs from Weinerschniztel!) If I could start eating healthy, so can you! I want to be an obtainable example for you. I want to make it simple and easy so that anyone can eat healthier.

SIMPLY WELLTHY IS A RESOURCE TO GIVE YOU THE FIRST STEPS YOU NEED TO BEGIN YOUR HEALTH JOURNEY.

I’ve over-simplified my research to help change the way you view dieting. I hope Simply Wellthy can help you make a healthy lifestyle change that lasts!

“Many Americans are overfed but undernourished. This means that they eat plenty of food, but the food is often convenience and packaged foods that have been stripped of their nutrients. While this may help keep you full, it doesn’t provide the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Most vitamins and minerals are found in whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables and lean meats. Neglecting to include these foods in your diet can lead to nutritional deficiencies.” – SF Gate
